What happens after you apply
A short call to walk through the expedition.
This is a women-only departure.
It follows the same route, terrain, and standards as our co-ed Colombia expedition. This limited departure is offered in response to demand, and because this expedition format benefits from a single, sustained group moving together through the route.
Nothing else changes.
One expedition. One shared rhythm.
Each day is defined by long hours on foot across demanding terrain. Movement includes sustained hiking, power hiking, and running, integrated naturally across the route. Participants move together through the landscape, maintaining forward progress over speed. Sustained running is not required.
Movement is the experience.
Each day moves through real terrain under your own power. No out-and-backs. No resets. Progress is earned.
Hard by design. Deeply human by nature.
Heat, humidity, elevation, and long days create real physical demand. What balances that effort is Colombia itself. The warmth of the people, the rhythm of daily life, and the openness with which communities welcome those who arrive on foot.

Access through relationships, not tourism.
Our local Terra Venture team brings participants into places where they live and work. Meals, stays, and encounters unfold naturally because this is home, not an attraction built for visitors.
Comfort used deliberately.
Often as contrast, helping mark the transition into and out of sustained effort. The expedition begins and ends in boutique resorts so participants arrive supported, push deeply through the middle, and recover properly.
Remote, responsibly executed.
A professional expedition team leads and supports the journey, with thoughtful route design, deep local knowledge, and Overwatch x Rescue oversight allowing access to genuinely remote terrain without compromising judgment or safety.
This is Colombia experienced through effort.
An endurance journey shaped by landscape, movement, and human
Fitness & Experience
This is a demanding expedition designed for experienced runners and strong hikers. You do not need to be elite. You do need to be durable, coachable, and capable of long days on your feet.
Terrain & Conditions
Expect steep climbs, muddy jungle trails, rocky mule paths, river crossings, wooden footbridges, and occasional off-trail travel. Weather is variable, with heat and humidity at lower elevations, cooler nights at higher altitudes, and periods of sun or rain.
Typical Days
Days are built around sustained movement through the terrain, with long hours on foot, scheduled support points, and evenings focused on recovery.
What You Carry
Participants carry only essential daytime items such as layers, nutrition, hydration, and personal safety gear. The support team manages the rest.
Group Size
Group size is intentionally small to maintain safety, cohesion, and meaningful access to remote terrain.
Day 1 Arrival in Medellín
Arrive in Medellín and transfer to our boutique host hotel. That evening, meet your fellow participants and expedition crew over a relaxed welcome dinner.
Day 2 Preparation & Orientation
A day to settle in, explore Medellín at your own pace, and prepare for the journey ahead. We gather for a local lunch, review the route, and walk through maps and logistics before a special group dinner.
Day 3 The Expedition Begins
Transfer to the trailhead and begin the expedition. The route moves through ancient trails toward a mountain town in Antioquia. Evening arrival, local lodging, and shared dinner.
Day 4 Sustained Movement
A full day moving deeper through the landscape, passing through jungle valleys, rivers, and remote villages. This stage extends into the evening, with a night arrival at a rural lakeside lodge.
Day 5 Final Push to Guatapé
The final day of movement brings the expedition to its finish on the shores of Guatapé. Arrival at the lake resort, time to recover, and a closing group dinner.
Day 6 Recovery and Decompression Day
A full day to rest and recover at the lake resort. Meals included. Guests with limited schedules may depart early this morning directly for the airport.
Day 7 Departure
For guests staying through the recovery day, an evening transfer to a nearby airport hotel followed by early morning departure.
