Terra Venture was founded by Charles Triponez and Roy Malone, renowned adventure athletes with decades of global competition experience.
They’ve taken the lessons learned from the trail — skills like communication, consensus building, resilience, strategy, and empathy — and applied them to their corporate and personal lives, leveraging the lessons for better outcomes.
Recognizing the profound growth that endurance adventures can inspire, they saw an opportunity to help others elevate their potential by combining the challenge of exploration with the pursuit of a purpose-driven life.
Building on their competitive expertise, they joined forces with top endurance athletes and local specialists from around the globe. Together, they’ve assembled a team dedicated to guiding you through transformative journeys in some of the world’s most stunning locations.

Charles discovered adventure racing in 2000, founding and captaining Team Rady’s Switzerland for 15 years. After moving to the United States, he joined Team Bones Adventure Racing in 2015, continuing his legacy of competing in the world’s most prestigious expedition races – Eco-Challenge, the Adventure Race World Series & Championship, and Primal Quest – with over 20 expedition-style races on almost every continent.
Professionally, Charles brings a unique background to Terra Venture, transitioning from engineering to project management to graphic design. He has worked with startups, iconic brands, and global corporations, building a wealth of experience that complements his leadership in the field.
Now based in Bend, Oregon, Charles lives with his wife, MK, their blended family of three boys, and a very fluffy dog. Whether crafting transformative journeys for Terra Venture or seeking his next adventure, Charles brings passion, resilience, and a deep understanding of the power of exploration to everything he does.

Roy brings a unique blend of executive leadership and adventure expertise to Terra Venture. With 25 years as a C-Suite financial services executive and a corporate trainer for Fortune 500 companies, Roy has honed his skills in leadership, strategy, and team development.
Roy lives in El Dorado Hills, California, with his wife, their four children, and two adventure-loving Vizslas. Whether in the boardroom or the wild, Roy exemplifies resilience, teamwork, and the pursuit of purpose, making him an integral part of Terra Venture’s mission to inspire transformative journeys.
Natalie grew up in Framingham, MA, where she thrived as a three-sport athlete, excelling in ice hockey — as a DIII Women's College Ice Hockey player — cross country, and lacrosse. Today, Natalie channels that energy into the great outdoors, embracing activities like backpacking, rock climbing, ...

Natalie combines a lifelong passion for adventure with a proven track record in sales and business development, making her an essential part of Terra Venture’s mission. Natalie oversees lead generation, qualification, and the sales process, ensuring every participant’s journey begins seamlessly and with purpose.
Before joining Terra Venture, Natalie spent over three years as Director of Business & Sales Operations, where she built a reputation as a visionary leader. Her ability to drive results, grow client networks, and create profitable business units will be instrumental in Terra Venture’s approach to partnerships and client engagement.
Natalie now lives in Salt Lake City, UT, where she is known for turning standard hikes into epic adventures with spontaneous side quests, Natalie embodies the belief that stepping outside your comfort zone is the key to personal growth. Her passion, creativity, and boundless energy make her a perfect fit for Terra Venture’s ethos of exploration and transformation.
Juan is an accomplished entrepreneur and seasoned adventure racer with over 20 years of experience. Based in Medellín, Colombia, he has competed in several Adventure Race World Championships and serves as the Director of PC12 Colombia, part of the prestigious Adventure Race World Series...
... Beyond racing, Juan is a recognized event organizer, having orchestrated numerous corporate adventure events, including recent programs for Colombia’s leading newspaper, El Tiempo.
Married to Paula and father to Matias and Tomas, Juan’s passions extend to road cycling, adventure sports, and outdoor exploration. His deep connection to nature and trees fuels his work and inspires his philosophy: “Serving others is our reason for being.”
As Terra Venture’s boots on the ground in Colombia, Juan and his team brings unparalleled expertise. He knows the region inside and out, with a vast network of local contacts and an intimate understanding of its landscapes. Whether navigating logistics or curating extraordinary experiences, Juan ensures every Terra Venture journey in Colombia is seamless, safe, and unforgettable.
For over two decades, Jen Segger has competed at the highest levels of endurance sports, racing with Team Bones and Team Expedition Canada. With multiple West Coast FKT (Fastest Known Time) records to her name, Jen thrives on the challenge of exploring untamed, awe-inspiring places...
...through ultra trail running, adventure racing, and mountain expeditions. She chooses her races not for the competition alone, but for the incredible locations they allow her to discover.
Jen’s passion for adventure extends beyond competition. As an ACMG Assistant Guide, she leads multi-day trail running and fastpacking expeditions across British Columbia, Alberta, and Northern Canada. When time permits, she teams up with her husband to guide stand-up paddleboard (SUP) trips, combining her love of the outdoors with her expertise in leading transformative experiences.
As Terra Venture’s Head Coach, Jen brings unmatched experience and dedication to our coaching programs. Over the last 20 years, she has worked with athletes from all walks of life — elite ultramarathoners, Mt. Everest climbers, and first-time adventure racers — helping them achieve their goals. Known for her ability to embrace individuals of all fitness levels, backgrounds, and time constraints, Jen tailors each program to unlock her athletes’ full potential. She also holds multiple international coaching certifications, further cementing her reputation as a leader in the field.
Born and raised in Duncan, BC, on Vancouver Island, Jen spent 20 years living in Squamish to pursue her athletic career amidst the mountains. She has since returned to Cumberland, BC, to raise her family and embrace the natural beauty of the area. A devoted mother to an adventurous son, Jen enjoys spending time with her family and dog. She is also working toward earning her private pilot’s license. With her wealth of expertise, adventurous spirit, and passion for helping others, Jen is an integral part of Terra Venture’s mission to inspire transformation through challenge.
